The Breach Has Opened
Hey everyone, I’m Rafał and I’m the UGC Program Manager for Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
Patch 1.28 is the beginning of something we wanted to do for a long time - opening Dying Light 2: Stay Human much more to player creativity and giving you not only new ways to play the game, but also inviting you to create it with us. I’ve been into modding and UGC content for years, so working on this update is something really special - and personal - for me.
A lot of you have asked us for this. More freedom, more crazy ideas, more ways to change the game and experiment with it. This update is our first real step in that direction.
That’s where The Breach comes in.
THE BREACH
The Breach is our way of opening Dying Light 2: Stay Human even more to UGC content, and adding new gameplay ideas, and different kinds of experiences. We want to keep bringing you a steady stream of themed worlds and unexpected adventures to jump into. Patch 1.28 launches the program with its first chapter, Survival Archives.

For me, it is not just about adding a few maps or mods. It’s about letting Dying Light 2: Stay Human become a place where weird, fun, unexpected ideas can exist alongside the main game while remaining closely connected to it through challenges, reward tracks, and even dedicated story content. Sometimes serious, sometimes chaotic, and sometimes completely different from what you expect Dying Light to be.
NEW WAYS TO PLAY
One of the first things we’re adding is a set of official mods like Third-Person Perspective (TPP) Mod and Low Gravity.

Third-Person is an experimental mode, offering a fresh way to experience the game. Parkour, combat, and movement feel different again in this perspective. Finally, you can also see your outfits in full during gameplay! And Low Gravity is just pure fun. Bigger jumps, different movements, and sometimes complete chaos. You can replay the whole game like this or just jump in for a while and mess around.
And honestly, this is only the start. We’re already preparing more crazy ideas that many of you have been asking for. What would you say to replacing Aiden with a Volatile, for instance?
The thing I personally love the most though is seeing what players are already creating with the tools. The Atomborne community map is probably one of the best examples of that. It’s a map made by T.E.O and it surprised a lot of us internally because it barely feels like traditional Dying Light at moments. It goes more into a soulslike direction and proves that our engine can support experiences way beyond the base game. And the craziest part is that only one person made it!

Then you have something like the Dead Circuit, which basically asks: “What if Dying Light happened in space?” That kind of creativity is exactly why we wanted to push more into UGC. People take the game into directions we would never think of ourselves.

At the same time, we also see players recreating things that mean a lot to the community and bringing back favourite bits from the first Dying Light.
Maps like Bozak Horde or Harran Prison instantly hit that nostalgia for people who spent hundreds of hours in the original Dying Light game. Seeing players rebuild those experiences inside Dying Light 2: Stay Human was a pleasant surprise for us and a confirmation of how iconic this content has become for our brand. You can feel that these maps were made by people who genuinely love the series.

TOLGA AND FATIN ARE BACK!
We also wanted to give you more reasons to keep jumping into these worlds, so Tolga and Fatin are coming back to guide you through this new reality and give you new bounties and rewards for playing UGC content.
By completing simple tasks, exploring maps, and trying different experiences, you’ll unlock new rewards like weapons, cosmetics, and something really cool: the iconic Tolga and Fatin outfits for Aiden.

Getting into all of this is very simple too. You don’t need to finish the campaign or start over. You can jump straight into Maps and Mods from the menu using your existing save. From the main game menu, you can go to the “Maps and Mods” section, where you’ll find UGC content. In the same menu, there’s also the Hub, where UGC agents offer bounties and rewards tied to your activity in UGC experiences.
WHAT’S NEXT?
Honestly, this update is just the first step for us, opening the door for more UGC content.
We have way more ideas we want to explore in the future, and I really hope Dying Light 2: Stay Human becomes a place where both us and the community can keep surprising each other. Make sure to also check out the roadmap, where you can see upcoming themes and what’s coming next.

The Badge is designed to help players discover creations that stand out for their quality, creativity, and overall experience. Beyond these highlighted experiences, the wider library remains open, giving players the freedom to explore a broad range of community creations while providing creators of all skill levels with opportunities to learn, experiment, and create using our tools and pipelines.
I genuinely can’t wait to see what you create next!
